GAMES:EDU offers a unique opportunity for those who have a passion to transform the UK development community. It brings together the UK’s foremost educators from across all disciplines to connect directly with computer games developers and producers, to exchange ideas and perspectives.
GAMES:EDU is backed by Skillset, which works with both the industry and government to identify and tackle the skills and productivity needs of the audio visual industries throughout the UK.
Taking our lead from GAMES:EDU:07 comments, we are now running two days:
29th April in Manchester & 29th July in Brighton.
With two distinct days of programming GAMES:EDU allows even more time for networking and content from the world's most progressive developers and publishers. Returning this year are the "Skillset Sessions" - workshops facilitated by the UK's top educators, helping you to produce better students.
Organized by Pixel-Lab, GAMES:EDU brings together the foremost educators to connect directly with computer games developers and producers, exchanging ideas, and discussing best practice and perspectives. GAMES:EDU creates a space to share best practice and understanding with the aim of assisting educators to create and drive an agenda that truly meets the needs of the development community.
Senior staff from Skillset are on hand to share information on the accreditation scheme and the support package available to those university courses that have been successful in their accreditation.
The games industry sees accreditation as the best means of enhancing provision of education in this sector by identifying, signposting and supporting higher education courses throughout the UK that provide the skills, knowledge and experience needed for individuals to confidently enter the computer games industry.
GAMES:EDU is organised by Pixel-Lab ltd and Tandem Events.
